Jishnu and
Meera[1 Min 13 Sec] A very short,
precious video clip of cousins Jishnu and Meera taken in
Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam, Malaysia, sometime in April 2006.
Grinning for a photo, Meera does not realise that her fiance
Sudheesh Bhasi is actually recording a video. As the
realization dawns and she exclaims in surprise, Jishnu jumps
to silence her because their aunt Mangalam, an extremely
light sleeper, is taking her afternoon nap in a nearby room.
This scene typifies the close and loving relationship that
Jishnu and Meera shared. The voices heard in this video are
those of Jishnu, Meera and Sudheesh.

Jishnu Fries His First Egg
[5
Min 16 Sec]
This video
captures Jishnu's first attempt at frying an egg under the
extremely watchful eyes and detailed guidance of his
maternal grandmother and his aunt Mangalam at the latter's
home in Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam, Malaysia. The video was
taken by Mangalam sometime in May 2006.
On the fateful
morning of his passing, Jishnu and his friends visited two
lovely beaches in the holy town of Gokarna in the southern
Indian state of Karnataka. Initially, the group went to the
better-known Om Beach. Later, hearing of a more scenic beach
nearby, they trekked to the more desolate Kudle Beach. It
was at Kudle that Jishnu and two other men subsequently lost
their lives that day.
For those who may be wondering what the beaches around
Gokarna are like, the following video clips found online may
help to provide some idea of the same as well as of the
conditions of the sea and the surrounding terrain.
Trekkers Leaving Kudle Beach
[6
Min 8 Sec]
Kudle Beach is not accessible by
vehicular traffic. A long, tiring trek on foot through hilly
terrain is involved to get there and back. In this video of
a group of youth making the return journey, you can hear the
panting of the cameraman during the walk. Note also the
warning signpost, shown towards the end of the video, which
some people may miss to their peril.
